Hanover — Garrett Husband and Marissa Vargas, of East Boston, Mass., have announced their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Shirley Vargas, of Indianapolis, and the late Joe Vargas. She graduated from Cathedral High School in Indianapolis in 1999 and earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations and Spanish from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Mo. She is employed as the diversity and inclusion director of marketing and communications at Liberty Mutual Insurance in Boston.
The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Vicki Bacon-Thomas and stepson of Dan Thomas, of Williamsburg, Va., and the son of Thomas Husband and stepson of Diane Husband, of Phoenix, Ariz. He is the grandson of Priscilla Lamott, of Lyme; Talbert Bacon, of Canaan; Nancy Husband, of Windsor; and the late Robert Husband. He graduated from Hanover High School in 2003 and earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports sciences: sports management from Colby-Sawyer College in 2007. He earned a master’s degree in business administration from Plymouth State University in Plymouth, N.H., in 2009, and is employed as the practice improvement program manager of analytics and infrastructure at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
The couple plan a June wedding at Mustard Seed Gardens in Noblesville, Ind.
