BRADFORD, Vt. — The driver of the truck that turned donuts over the soccer field at Oxbow High School, causing extensive damage, has been identified and issued a criminal citation for unlawful mischief.

Trevor Kingsbury, 23, of Newbury, was identified as the driver of the 2004 Chevrolet pickup with assistance from members of the public who had “third-hand, fourth-hand knowledge” of Kingsbury and the incident, said Bradford Police Chief Russell Robinson.

The cost of the damage to the field, which occurred around midnight on Friday, Nov. 17, is still being estimated, but will likely be in the tens of thousands of dollars, said Randy Gawel, superintendent of the Orange East Supervisory Union.

Kingsbury is a 2018 graduate of Oxbow High. He is scheduled to appear in Orange County District Court on Jan. 29, according to a news release on Monday from Bradford Police.

Prior to the incident, Bradford police “hadn’t had any dealings with him at all,” Robinson said of Kingsbury.
