WASHINGTON — Junior goalkeeper Charlotte Cyr delivered a stout nine-save performance to backstop the Dartmouth College women’s soccer team’s 1-1 draw with No. 8 Georgetown at Shaw Field on Thursday afternoon.

Cyr’s effort — supported by a second-half Allie Winstanley goal — kept Dartmouth unbeaten at 2-0-1. The Hoyas are 2-0-2 with the deadlock.

After a scoreless first half, the third in as many games for the Big Green, the visitors broke through. Winstanley finished a Maddie Mills feed in the 59th minute, giving Winstanley either a goal or an assist on all six Dartmouth scores this season. Georgetown leveled through Gia Vicari 10 minutes later.

The game stayed deadlocked through two 10-minute overtimes, but not without controversy. The Hoyas drew a penalty kick for a hand ball with two minutes left in the first OT, and Dartmouth coach Ron Rainey received a red card for protesting the call. Georgetown’s PK ultimately ricocheted out off the goal post.

The Big Green visits George Mason on Sunday.
