HANOVER — Katie Bourque and Sophia Turchetta scored back-to-back goals to break a 3-3 tie, both finishing with four goals as the 15th-ranked Dartmouth College women’s lacrosse team beat No. 5 Florida, 13-9, at Scully-Fahey Field on Tuesday.

The Big Green (4-0) never trailed again after Bourque’s tie-breaker with 14:09 left in the first half. Dartmouth built a 10-5 lead in the second half; the Gators (4-1) rallied to within 11-8 before the Big Green halted the comeback.

Bourque added an assist for a five-point afternoon, Ellie Carson contributed two goals and goalie Kiera Vrindten made eight saves. New Hampshire visits the Big Green on Saturday.

SKIINGEleven headed to NCAAs

HANOVER — The Big Green will send 11 athletes to the NCAA championship in Bozeman, Mont., next week, the NCAA announced on Tuesday.

Katharine Ogden headlines Dartmouth’s contingent at nationals. A three-time winner at NCAAs, Ogden missed the last month of the Big Green’s carnival season to complete in World Cup races in Scandinavia. She is the defending champion in the women’s Nordic classic and is looking to regain the freestyle title she won two years ago as a freshman. Molly Gellert and Mara McCollor will join Ogden with the women, while Cameron Wolfe and Hanover native Adam Glueck will represent Dartmouth in the men’s Nordic events.

Dartmouth will have the full complement of six athletes in alpine action: Tricia Mangan, Claire Thomas and Abi Jewett for the women; Drew Duffy, Kipling Weisel and Andrew Miller for the men. Mangan is a past Olympian.

Dartmouth athletes also earned nine spots on the all-EISA team. Duffy, Mangan, Thoms and Ogden were first-team choices; Jewett, Miller, Weisel, McCollor and Gwen Wattenmaker were second-team selections.

Montana State is hosting this year’s NCAA championship meet on March 11-14.
