CLAREMONT — COVID-19 testing and vaccination sites in Claremont are scheduled to close this month, along with others around the state.

The testing site is slated to close on Tuesday, and the vaccination site on March 31, according to the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services and Newport-based On-Site Medical Services, which has been operating the vaccination site.

In a news release announcing the change last week, DHHS said the testing sites are no longer necessary now that the omicron wave of COVID-19 has largely subsided and now that rapid antigen tests are widely available, including at the state’s liquor stores.

The testing locations in Claremont at River Valley Community College on College Place, as well as six other locations outside of the Upper Valley are scheduled to close at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. PCR tests still are available for free online at: https://learn.vaulthealth.com/nh/.

Through the end of the month, Claremont’s walk-in vaccination site in the former liquor store on Washington Street is open Monday-Saturday from noon to 7 p.m., according to On-Site Medical Service’s website.
