Claremont man dies in motorcycle crash

CLAREMONT — A 64-year-old Claremont man died in a motorcycle crash on Main Street on Thursday evening, according to a news release from Claremont police.

Claremont emergency services responded to the scene of the accident, just west of Westside Ave., at 5:48 p.m. Thursday.

The operator, Aulay Fritz Carlson, was not breathing, and first responders were unable to resuscitate him. Carlson was not wearing a helmet, Claremont Police Chief Brent Wilmot told the Valley News.

The circumstances surrounding the crash, such as whether speed, impairment, distraction and/or a medical emergency were contributing factors, are under investigation.
