CLAREMONT — The City Council voted 9-0 to give City Manager Yoshi Manale a 5% pay increase on Wednesday.

The vote came after a performance review, which took place in a non-public session.

The $7,000 raise brings Manale's salary to $147,000. He was hired two years ago at a salary of $130,000.

The increase is retroactive to April of this year, which is when Manale's review was completed, Mayor Dale Girard said.

Manale came to Claremont after serving as town manager of Brattleboro, Vt., for about five months before resigning in May of 2022.
