CLAREMONT — The Route 12A bridge over the Sugar River in Claremont will be closed during the day for at least three days next week, according to the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

The DOT is beginning the next phase of rehabilitation work on Tuesday. The bridge’s closure will allow for the installation of new structural steel girders in the southbound lane.

A detour will be in place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. while the bridge is closed. In addition to the planned three-day closure, the bridge may also be closed on Friday, April 5.

Evroks Corporation of Tilton, N.H., is the contractor for the $5.7 million project, which has a completion date of Sept. 19, 2025.
