CLAREMONT — The Claremont Police Department has identified the two people found dead in a home on Stewart Ave last week.

First responders found Claremont residents Franklin and Tammy Hoyt, both 63, dead at a home located at 69 Stewart Ave on Dec. 6.

The Police Department is working with the New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the manner and causes of the Hoyts’ deaths.

“At this time, the manner of death does not appear to be suspicious, and the causes remain under investigation pending further studies,” according to a Monday news release from Claremont police.

Emergency services, including the state fire marshal’s office, responded to a 911 call on Dec. 6 from a neighbor, Bill King, who noticed that there had not been smoke coming from his neighbors’ chimney for several days. He went and looked in a window and saw two bodies inside, he told the Valley News last week.

The home is located in a cul-de-sac of pre-fabricated homes on the city’s southeast side, at the corner of Stewart Avenue and Case Hill Road.

Anyone with information about the deaths is encouraged to call Claremont Police Detective Richard Bell at 603-542-7010.
