NEWPORT — A 20-year-old Charlestown woman is alleged to be at fault in the motorcycle crash that killed an EMT last September.
Hailey Martineau was indicted by a Sullivan County grand jury on Tuesday on two felony charges: negligent homicide and reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, Charlestown police said in a news release on Wednesday.
Martineau was operating the vehicle behind Ian Pierce, 30 — an EMT who had moved to Claremont 18 months earlier to take a job with Golden Cross Ambulance — when the motorcycle he was riding came in contact with Martineau’s vehicle on Route 12 and he was thrown into the opposite lane, where his body was struck by an oncoming tractor trailer truck.
Charlestown police said New Hampshire State Police Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Team and Claremont Police Department assisted in the investigation.
Martineau will appear at an arraignment at a later date, Charlestown police said.
