Canaan voters expand size of Historic District Commission

CANAAN — Scott Johnston won a three-year term on the Selectboard in ballot voting on Tuesday.

Johnston beat out Daniel Collins for the seat, 379-250.

Voters approved a general fund budget of $5.25 million, as well as a water and sewer budget of $291,000 to be raised by user fees.

Voters also supported an article seeking $100,000 for town paving projects this year.

Voters approved an article to bring the number of commissioners on the Historic District Commission to seven, an addition of two seats, as well as another article to discontinue the Class VI Rameor Road.
