CANAAN — Canaan's town administrator has informed the Selectboard that he is leaving, according to the Selectboard chairman.

Stephen Freese, the board chairman, said in a Friday interview that Ned Connell recently gave the board notice that he’s moving on to a different position elsewhere.

In the near term, the town will contract with Plymouth, N.H.-based Municipal Resources Inc. for administrative services, Freese said.

Connell, previously an administrator in Coventry, Vt., began work in Canaan in October, replacing Mike Samson, who retired af in the role since 2010.
