LEBANON — A man was stabbed and a woman assaulted inside an apartment on Parkhurst Avenue on Wednesday evening, according to Lebanon Police.

Riely Mavilla, 20, of Canaan, faces multiple felony assault and misdemeanor charges in connection with incident.

Police responded to a report of a man yelling while walking around a downtown apartment building. Upon arriving, police determined Mavilla allegedly stabbed a 49-year-old male and assaulting a 44-year-old female inside an apartment at 14 Parkhurst Ave., police said in a news release on Thursday.

All the parties are known to each other, police said.

The male victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and the female victim was uninjured, according to police.

Upon arriving at the address of the call, police met witnesses who reported that a man, identified as Mavilla, punched another man in the face and stabbed him with a kitchen knife “numerous times in (the) chest,” according to the news release.

Mavilla then left the apartment but returned a few minutes later and broke through the then-locked apartment door “where he assaulted a female occupant before attacking the male victim again by striking him with his fists,” the news release said.

Mavilla was found inside the apartment with the victims when police arrived, police said.
