CANAAN — Four people were displaced when a fire damaged a mobile home on Orange Road early Monday morning.

Firefighters arrived at the scene at 1:46 a.m. and discovered that a fire that had started in a bedroom had spread to the structure’s roof, according to a news release from the Canaan Fire Department. They were able to contain the fire to the roof and the bedroom.

The four people inside the home made it out safely and were not injured. They are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

A New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s office investigator determined that the fire started due to “an issue with electrical wiring in the wall of the residence,” according to the release.

Canaan firefighters and emergency medical service had assistance from the Enfield, Grafton, Hanover, Lebanon and Rumney, N.H., fire departments.
