Bradford Town Meeting preview

Article of note: One article asks voters to send $195,000 in surplus funds to a parks and recreation capital fund for a planned skatepark.

Contested races: Two people are running for one three-year term on the Selectboard: incumbent Michael Wright and Ralph Messenger. Two people are running for the remainder of a three-year Selectboard term that expires in 2026: Jon Larabee and Joshua Allen. Two people are running for a two-year term: Carole Taylor and Marthanne “Marcey” Carver.

Budgets and spending articles: The proposed budget includes $2.96 million to be raised in taxes, including $1.68 million for the general fund and $1.28 million for the highway budget.

When, where and how to vote: Town Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, March 1, at 9 a.m. in the Bradford Academy Building. Polls will be open for Australian ballot voting on Tuesday, March 4, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
