Human remains found in tent in Bethel

BETHEL — Vermont State Police have launched a death investigation after finding the decomposed remains of an unidentified person inside a tent on private property off Findley Bridge Road, according to a news release.

Police learned at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday of the remains outside a residence, according to a news release from police. The road runs along the White River in Bethel.

The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington is conducting an autopsy.
