WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — A woman’s dead body was found in the Casella recycling processing center on Route 4 on Tuesday, according to a news release from Hartford police.

The incident appears to be isolated, so there is no risk to the community, the release said. The Vermont State Police are assisting in the ongoing investigation.

Casella’s operational and safety teams are working with state and local authorities to help with the ongoing investigation, Jeff Weld, a spokesman for the Rutland, Vt.-based company, said in an emailed statement Tuesday.

“We are also ensuring that the Casella employees who were exposed to this tragedy are receiving the support that they need,” he wrote.

He directed questions to police. Hartford police did not return emails or voice messages by deadline on Tuesday.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Hartford Police Department at 802-295-9425.
