BETHEL — Bethel residents green-lighted a retail cannabis operation in town by ballot vote on Tuesday. The article passed, 131-72.

In a non-binding decision, residents also approved, by 179-20 vote, a $2.5 million bond for capital improvements to the town’s water system. The vote was non-binding because Bethel failed to meet statutory bond notification requirements.

A binding vote will be held Tuesday, April 18.
