Car Fire Destroys SUV in West Lebanon McDonald’s Parking Lot

Monday, February 08, 2016
West Lebanon — Police say nobody was injured in a car fire today in the McDonald’s parking lot off of Route 12A about 12:30 p.m.

Part of the parking lot was closed and traffic was reduced to one lane on part of Interchange Drive as emergency responders battled the blaze during the lunch hour. Lebanon fire and police responded.

Lyme resident Kristen Patton, who owns the SUV, said she and her husband, John Patton, were out running errands today. They had just bought coffee in the drive-thru when they noticed the vehicle was acting strangely and pulled into a parking space.

At that point, Kristen Patton said, she noticed some smoke coming from the hood. The AAA representative told them to get out of the vehicle and call 911.

Patton said she has insurance on the 10-year-old vehicle. Drivers continued through the drive-thru throughout the blaze, many taking pictures.
