Deanna L. Vertone

Unity, N.H. — Deanna L. Vertone, 75, of Heritage Drive in Claremont, N.H. died Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at Sullivan County Healthcare following a period of failing health. She was born in Claremont, N.H. on Dec. 22, 1940, the daughter of Alfred L. and Ruth E. (LaDeau) Lambert and had been a lifetime area resident. She was a graduate of Stevens High School, Class of 1958.

Deanna had been employed as a sheet metal worker by Design Standards until her retirement in 2002. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Parish where she was a member of the Altar Society and also taught CCD for 17 years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Virgil Barber. Deanna ran the annual penny sale at Sugar River Mills for many years.

Members of her family include her husband, John Vertone, Claremont, whom she married on July 4, 1962; a son, Michael J. Vertone and his wife, April, Laconia, N.H.; a step-great-granddaughter, Ameera; a sister, Jean Cheney, Keene, N.H. and Punta Gorda, Fla.; three nieces, Lisa Cheney, Keene, N.H., Susan Lyman and her husband, Bruce, Marlborough, N.H,, Jill Stubbs and her husband, Rodney, Swanzey, N.H.; and a nephew, Jay Cheney and his wife, Carol, Hopkinton, Mass.; as well as many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, at St. Joseph’s Church, with the Rev. George Majka, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan Street, Claremont on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the funeral procession leaves for the church.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Lake Sunapee VNA/Hospice, PO Box 2209, New London, NH 03257 or Genesis Lebanon Center, Patient Activity Fund, 24 Old Etna Road, Lebanon, NH 03766.
