‘Upper Valley Visionaries’ to Be Honored at Dinner

Quechee — An upcoming fundraiser sponsored by Vital Communities will honor 11 Upper Valley leaders.

The annual “Heroes and Leaders” dinner benefits Leadership Upper Valley, a program of Vital Communities.

This year’s event, themed Upper Valley Visionaries, is set for May 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the Quechee Club.

The honorees are:

■ Barbara Ragle Barnes, founder of Upper Valley Educators Institute.

■ L ocal developer Matt Bucy.

■ Dick Cyr, founder of David’s House.

■ Van Chesnut, executive director of Advance Transit.

■ Dick Couch, co-founder of Hypertherm.

■ Robert Dean, founder or co-founder of 11 companies, including Hypertherm.

■ David Goudy, executive director of the Montshire Museum.

■ Jake and Liz Guest, owners of Killdeer Farm.

■ Carol Langstaff, founder of the Revels and Flock Dance Troupe.

■ Jim Varnum, retired president of Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital.

“These leaders envisioned and strengthened our region,” Vital Communities said in a recent newsletter.

The nonprofit’s former executive director, Len Cadwallader, will be the keynote speaker.
