Dartmouth Women Improve to 3-0

San Luis Obispo, Calif. — Junior Lakin Roland set a career-best with 29 points and finished with her third double-double of the season, as the Dartmouth College women’s basketball team defeated Cal Poly, 74-61, on Friday evening at the Mott Athletics Center on day one of Cal Poly’s holiday tournament.

With the win, Dartmouth improved to 3-0, its best start since the 2005-06 season, when the team began the season 4-0.

Roland’s 29 points and 11 rebounds led Dartmouth.

Freshman Amber Mixon added 18 points on 6-of-8 from the floor with five rebounds. The Big Green held its largest lead of the contest early in the second half, when it led by 25 points.

Kristen Ale and Ariana Elegado led Cal Poly with 18 points each.

Dartmouth will finish out the Holiday Tournament today at 6 p.m. against Kent State.
