A Pre-Holiday Sampling of Ski Area Deals

∎ The Upper Valley has lots of options. The Dartmouth Skiway offers $20 non-holiday tickets Mondays and Tuesdays. Whaleback has midweek $20 tickets and a menu of $15 deals—last two hours of any day, Sunday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon and a lower mountain ticket for the terrain park and beginner zone.

∎ Suicide Six in Pomfret, Vt. continues its non-holiday $10 Mondays and also has its non-holiday Frugal Fridays with $25 adult tickets, and $20 for kids and seniors.

∎ In the Lakes Region, Gunstock’s value offerings include a Sunday Family 4-Pack for two adults and two youths for $199, two-for-one non-holiday Mondays and a $25 Belknap County Club Tuesdays. Ski at night for more savings.

∎ Keene’s Granite Gorge Saturday Night Special allows everyone to ski, ride or tube (and get rentals) for $38. At Pats Peak in Henniker, the festive Pay One Price Saturday night deal starts Dec. 28 and costs $48. That’s good for skiing, riding, tubing and rentals.

∎ Bennington’s Crotched Mountain has a few new deals to add to its arsenal like non-holiday Monday $29 senior tickets (55 and up) and non-holiday $29 college student tickets.

∎ Mount Sunapee’s deals include non-holiday Magic Mondays with $47 lift tickets and non-holiday Ladies Day Tuesdays when $52 scores a lift ticket and buffet lunch. Non-holiday Wednesdays are two-for-one for $72 while New Hampshire residents pay $42 on Sunday afternoons from noon to 4 p.m.

∎ The White Mountains are ripe with deals. Cannon continues its non-holiday twofers on Tuesdays and Thursdays at $72 for two and $47 for one. Granite Staters pay $25 on Wednesdays except New Year’s Day when everyone rings in the New Year with a two-for-$72 day. It’s that same price on Super Sunday Feb. 2 too.

∎ Bretton Woods is celebrating 40 years and has some deals linked to that starting with $40 tickets on Dec. 14, its birthday party. Pay $25 on Christmas Day and $17 on March 17. Wear beach attire March 29 and pay $25. Patriots Day (April 21) is $17.76 and get a return voucher good until Dec. 19, 2014.

∎ The popular $25 noon-4 p.m. Sunday local ticket for Coos, Carroll, Grafton, Belknap, and Vermont’s Essex and Caledonia counties residents is back. Everyone gets in on non-holiday two-for-one Wednesdays (XC too) while seniors 65 and older pay $50 on non-holiday Thursdays and that includes a lesson.

∎ Both Attitash and Wildcat plan $40 Fridays in March and April, have a Sunday Funday Afternoon ticket for $30 and will take part in $39 Super Football Sunday on Feb. 2, a two-for-one $63 ticket on Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14), $17 St. Patrick’s Day tickets (March 17) and $9 April Fool’s Day tickets.

∎ Cross country skiers can get two-fers for non-holiday Mondays and Fridays at Great Glen Trails at the base of Mount Washington by going to their website and printing out a coupon while Bear Notch Ski Touring charges seniors 60-plus $12 every day.

∎ A Vermont sampler includes funky Magic Mountain in Londonderry with $15 non-holiday, non-powder day Throwback Thursdays while retro Mad River Glen charges $3.50 on Roll Back the Clock Day Jan. 28, 2014, $14 on Feb. 14 if you kiss your honey in the ticket booth and a twofer April Fool’s Day Special if you act like a fool at the ticket booth.

∎ Mount Snow’s $12 advance online purchase for Founder’s Day Dec. 12 sells out quickly. Anyone under age 18 pays their age on Youth Pay Your Age Day Jan. 5, 2014. Valentine’s Day is two-for-$49 while St. Patrick’s Day is $17.

∎ Okemo takes care of residents on both sides of the Connecticut River with specials for Vermonters and Granite Staters. Play non-holiday Sunday morning’s from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for $35 for adults, $30 for young adults/seniors and $24 for juniors/super seniors. Sunday afternoons are $29 while non-holiday Wonderful Wednesdays are $39 with select April dates at $29.
