Barbara Ann Emerson

Bradford, Vt. — Barbara Ann Emerson, 74, of Bradford died at home on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012 surrounded by her family.

She was born Aug. 20, 1938, the daughter of Urban and Emma (King) Shover. She attended schools in Topsham, Vt. On Nov. 25, 1961, she was married to Otis Emerson who survives.

She was employed for many years at Channel Mills in Bradford, and then worked for Grafton County Nursing Home for 22 years until she retired.

She enjoyed going to dances, gardening, hunting and fishing, visiting with friends and neighbors, being outdoors, cooking and spending time with her family especially her great-grandkids.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Otis Emerson; and one son, Orin Emerson; a granddaughter, Tonya Bean and her husband, Chris; a grandson, Scott; two great-granddaughters, Taylor and Caleigh; three sisters, Ida, Doris and Irma; as well as many nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at 1 p.m. in the family lot in the East Corinth New Cemetery in East Corinth, Vt. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Hale Funeral Home, Upper Plain, Bradford.

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Grafton County Home Association, Attn: Doreen Moody, 3855 Dartmouth College Hwy, North Haverhill, N.H. 03780
