WINDSOR – A 30-year-old Randolph-area woman who was recently charged with a multi-county crime spree was arrested again this week after police say she left the home where she was supposed to be staying under house arrest.
Amanda Conant was charged Wednesday night with violating the conditions of her release after police found that she was staying at a home on East Bethel Road and not, as a Windsor Superior Court judge had ordered, at her mother’s home on Weston Street. Conant was arraigned on the newer charges Thursday and was released again with an updated address for her house arrest, according to Windsor County prosecutors.
Conant was initially charged Saturday with a string of crimes that she’s accused of committing the month before, including breaking into several homes in Windsor and Addison counties, according to police. Officers investigating the crimes found Conant and an alleged co-conspirator, Kevin Bent, in a stolen car that had been marked “Bonnie and Clyde 2021” outside of a store in East Randolph on May 20, but the pair fled from police, according to court documents.
Bent was arrested a short time later after he was seen getting out of a stolen septic truck in East Randolph, and he was held on a $2,500 bail following an arraignment. After police found Conant on Saturday, she was arraigned in Windsor Superior Court on Monday and ordered released on conditions, including 24-hour curfew and an order she stay at the home on Weston Street.
