NEWBURY, N.H. — State officials on Wednesday issued a fecal bacteria warning for Sunapee State Park Beach.

Samples collected Tuesday exceeded state standards for fecal bacteria and an advisory will remain in place until bacteria counts decrease, according to the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services.

Resampling of the beach was scheduled for Thursday, and new test results should be available on Wednesday, DES said on its website.
