Dreamer, adoptable from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society

“Hi! My name’s Dreamer and I’m a 13-year-old spayed female.

“My former owner brought me to Lucy Mackenzie when they realized I was really unhappy and not being treated well in our home. The other cats in the house had been making my life miserable, and I’m not the type to fight back.

“The good news is that I’ve made some really good cat friends since arriving here! I live in a room where there are plenty of places for me to burrow, and high perches to snuggle with my kitty friends. I come right out to meet people and get belly rubs, and am very affectionate. I’m so happy to make new, nice friends!

“If you’ve been looking to adopt a very sweet senior gal who deserves a peaceful, loving life, stop in and meet me today!”

(Dreamer is up for adoption from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society, located at 4832 Route 44 in West Windsor and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 12-4 p.m. Lucy Mackenzie is also on Facebook and Twitter and can be reached at 802-484-5829.)

Inky, adoptable from Sullivan County Humane Society

“I am 3-year-old Inky. A kind family found me during the winter and took me in. Sadly, when they moved a few months later I was not allowed in their new home so had to come here.

“I seem shy but I am actually super sweet!

“I am vet checked, neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped and FIV/FeLV negative.”

(Inky is up for adoption from Sullivan County Humane Society, located at 145 Broad St. in Claremont. Please see hours on the humane society website at www.sullivancountyhumanesociety.org and Facebook. Call 603-542-3277 or email sullivanhumane@hotmail.com.)

Lila, adoptable from White River Animal Rescue

The lovely miss Lila is looking for her forever home! She is a big, sweet girl, who loves everyone she meets. She has been good with everyone from big and small humans, as well as cats, dogs, chickens, guinea pigs, and farm animals.

Lila is extremely sweet, laid-back, and calm. She walks perfectly on a leash, loves hiking and playing, but also enjoys just lounging around.

Everybody who meets her falls in love. Please consider making Lila part of your family today.

(Please go to White River Animal Rescue’s website at www.whiteriveranimalrescue.org to fill out an application. We will contact you for an interview once your application has been reviewed. Our adoption fee is $500 and the minimum age for adopting is 28. To adopt a puppy under 5 months, you must be able to be home with them or take them to work with you. Dogs coming on transport arrive on Saturdays and you must be available to pick up your new family member.)

Emery, adoptable from Upper Valley Humane Society

“Hi there, my name is Emery and I am a shy 13-year-old cat. I can be reserved at first but give me some love and I warm right up. My favorite pastimes are sleeping in my bed and stretching out in a sun beam.

“I would do better in a quiet household where I can become comfortable at my own pace. I not sure how I feel about other animals or children, but it would probably be best if they were calm and could respect my space.

“So if you are looking for a sweet, quiet cat, I could be the one for you!”

(Emery is up for adoption from the Upper Valley Humane Society, located at 300 Old Route 10 in Enfield and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The Upper Valley Humane Society is also on Facebook and Instagram and can be reached at 603-448-6888.)

Maggie, adoptable from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society

“Hi! My name’s Maggie and I’m a 5-year-old spayed female hound/Corgi mix.

“Don’t be surprised if I look familiar. You might remember from a couple of years ago before I was adopted from Lucy Mackenzie. I was recently returned when my family concluded that I needed more attention than that which they were able to give me. It’s OK, though — I’m excited to start the next phase of my life!

“Although I might appear independent at times, I’m a fun-loving girl that really appreciates one-on-one time with people. I enjoy going on leashed walks exploring the wild outdoors, and smelling all the wonders of the world. I also really like playing with people in a safely fenced in yard.

“I must confess that I will become fully engrossed in whatever scents and smells come my way and I will try to track down the source. I have a great nose! So, FYI, I do need to stay on a leash at all times.

“I’ve come a long way with my obedience training and would like to continue improving in my new home. Some dogs I like and some I don’t like so much, but I’m always willing to meet them. I’m not a great match with other animals, like cats or chickens. Really, my main focus is always with the people in my life so I would be A-OK being an only dog.

“If you’ve been looking for an active canine companion to bring lots of smiles and laughs to your life, stop in and meet me today!”

(Maggie is up for adoption from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society, located at 4832 Route 44 in West Windsor and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 12-4 p.m. Lucy Mackenzie is also on Facebook and Twitter and can be reached at 802-484-5829.)
