Sasha, adoptable from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society

“Hi! My name’s Sasha and I’m a 6-year-old spayed female German Shepherd. My family suffered a great tragedy and had no other option but to give me up. I came to Lucy Mackenzie with my little canine companion, Herbie, who has been adopted. After receiving some much needed TLC, I’m ready to be adopted myself!

“I can’t wait to find my new home, but in the meantime, I’m working very hard on learning some great new tricks and skills. I’ve learned how to walk really well on a leash, and am working on  patience. I’ve come such a long way! I’d love to continue my training in my new home and wouldn’t mind finding a family that has experience with German Shepherds.

“At this point in my life, I would be most pleased to be the only dog in the house.  It’s OK, though — I’m all the dog that you will need!

“If you’ve been looking for a lovely German Shepherd dog that promises to bring you lots of love and laughs, stop in and meet me today!”

(Sasha is up for adoption from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society, located at 4832 Route 44 in West Windsor and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 12-4 p.m. Lucy Mackenzie is also on Facebook and Twitter and can be reached at 802-484-5829.)

Eva, adoptable from Sullivan County Humane Society

“I am 10-year-old Eva. I was adopted five years ago from the humane society but when my mom had to move, she brought me back here.

“I am a beautiful, declawed girl and I am loving, but I also like my alone time. If you are looking for a loving cat that is not too demanding of your attention, I am the girl for you!

“I am vet checked, spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped and FIV/FeLV negative.”

(Eva is up for adoption from Sullivan County Humane Society, located at 145 Broad St. in Claremont. Please see hours on the humane society website at www.sullivancountyhumanesociety.org and Facebook. Call 603-542-3277 or email sullivanhumane@hotmail.com.)

Gizmo and Shaymus, adoptable from Upper Valley Humane Society

“Hi! We’re Gizmo and Shaymus, two adorable 7-year-old brothers!

“We can be a bit reserved at first, but once we get to know you, we’ll warm right up! We’d love to find a quiet home with lots of snuggles.

“As you can see, Gizmo is a BIG boy — he weighs 25 pounds! There’s just more of him to love.

“We love each other very much and need to go to a home together. We want to be the only cats in your life, because we haven’t been too fond of the cats we’ve met at the shelter. If you have a dog, we will have to meet it first before going home with one.

“If you’re looking for a handsome pair of cats, please come meet us today!”

(Gizmo and Shaymus are up for adoption from the Upper Valley Humane Society, located at 300 Old Route 10 in Enfield and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The Upper Valley Humane Society is also on Facebook and Instagram and can be reached at 603-448-6888.)
