Buffy, adoptable from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society

“Hi! My name’s Buffy and I’m a 10-year-old spayed female Pekingese. I came to Lucy Mackenzie with my brother, Angelo, and our friend, Bubba, when our owner could no longer take care of us.

“I may be 10, but I don’t look it, and I most certainly don’t act it. If you’ve never walked around in the snow, I highly suggest you check it out! My petite size does not deter me from barreling through snow drifts that are taller than me.

“Even though I’ve lived with Angelo my entire life, I wouldn’t mind spending my golden years as an only dog. It would be best if there were no young children in my new home, as I can become very cautious around sudden movements and loud noises.

“We’ve been working on basic obedience during my time here at the shelter, and I’ve found it all to be lots of fun and would hope to continue doing so when I leave here.

“If you think you and I might be a match made in heaven, stop in and meet me today!”

Buffy is up for adoption from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society, located at 4832 Route 44 in West Windsor and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 12-4 p.m. Lucy Mackenzie is also on Facebook and Twitter and can be reached at 802-484-5829.

Tiffany and JoJo, adoptable from Sullivan County Humane Society

“We are 2-year-old Tiffany and 3-year-old JoJo. Our dad was evicted so gave us to a friend. Sadly, when the friend’s landlord found out about us, he said, ‘No way.’ So here we are.

“We are an adorable pair! We are vet checked, spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped and FIV/FeLV negative —and our dental is done, too.”

Tiffany and JoJo are up for adoption from Sullivan County Humane Society, located at 145 Broad St. in Claremont. Please see hours on the humane society website at and Facebook. Call 603-542-3277 or email

Buzz, adoptable from Upper Valley Humane Society

“Hi, I’m Buzz! I’m a super friendly 3-year-old guinea pig. I enjoy spending my time playing and snuggling with you. I really like my human friends, so much that my love is to infinity and beyond!

“If you’d like a love bug in your life, then come scoop me up today.”

Buzz is up for adoption from the Upper Valley Humane Society, located at 300 Old Route 10 in Enfield and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The Upper Valley Humane Society is also on Facebook and Instagram and can be reached at 603-448-6888.
