Nola, adoptable from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society

“Hi! My name is Nola and I’m a 1-year-old spayed female Cane Corso mix. I came to Lucy Mackenzie when my family was moving and I couldn’t go with them.

“The people that take care of me here have been helping me build confidence. We work on it every day by practicing obedience skills and by introducing me to new people. I’ve slowly and steadily made lots of progress and have come such a far way! I didn’t have much socialization when I was young, so many of these things are new to me. I did always live with other dogs and cats, which I like very much.

“So, at this point in my life, I’m looking for new friends and a new home. I’m not comfortable around everybody, and my new family will need to understand that things will often need to move at my pace. I really am doing well with my training, and would very much like to continue with it.

“If you have room in your home and heart for a sweetheart of a dog that may need a little extra time and patience, stop in and meet me today!”

Nola is up for adoption from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society, located at 4832 Route 44 in West Windsor and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 12-4 p.m. Lucy Mackenzie is also on Facebook and Twitter and can be reached at 802-484-5829.

Marley, adoptable from Upper Valley Humane Society

“Hi! My name is Marley and I am a 3-year-old mixed breed dog. I can be a bit shy at first, but once I get to know you you’ll see that I am a sweet and wiggly girl.

“I would enjoy a quiet home, with someone who is willing to take me out and play during the day and snuggle up at night. I have basic skills and am always looking to learn new things. I am looking for a home with adults only, and would be OK with dogs pending an introduction.

“If you think I could be the girl for you, please come and meet me today!”

Marley is up for adoption from the Upper Valley Humane Society, located at 300 Old Route 10 in Enfield and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The Upper Valley Humane Society is also on Facebook and Instagram and can be reached at 603-448-6888.

Chester, adoptable from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society

“Hi! My name’s Chester and I’m a 5-year-old neutered male Beagle mix. I originally came to Lucy Mackenzie from Virginia earlier this year and was even adopted for a while. I had lots of fun in that home, but it wasn’t a good match, so I came back here.

“It’s a good thing, too, because we eventually realized that I have a food allergy. Yes, it’s true! I could hardly believe it myself, but I have to tell you, I feel like a new dog now that we discovered that out.

“I love people and I really love being around them. My ideal humans would be a person or people that love to go exploring, either the running or hiking type of adventure.

“My friends here have worked hard on teaching me how to walk well on a leash, and I’d like to say, I’m really good at it. Speaking of leashes, those things are pretty important to me and my safety. You see, I always need to be leashed. Fences really don’t make an adequate barrier for me and present little challenge. I can scale pretty much anything.

“I get along well with most other dogs, cats and people of all ages. I’m even constantly working on obedience skills, too, and would have to say, am a rather well-trained pup that is incredibly eager to please.

“If you’re looking for a new adventurous companion that will surely bring lots of love to your life, stop in and meet me today!”

Chester is up for adoption from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society, located at 4832 Route 44 in West Windsor and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 12-4 p.m. Lucy Mackenzie is also on Facebook and Twitter and can be reached at 802-484-5829.

Minchi, adoptable from Upper Valley Humane Society

“Hi, I’m Minchi, a beautiful 8-year-old Tortie. I’m sweet, chatty, and independent. I like to spend most of my time exploring and playing with my toys. I enjoy being petted, but only like being picked up when it’s on my own terms.

“I’m currently on a special diet to help keep me happy and healthy. I’ve been picky about cats I’ve met here, and would probably like to live in a feline-free home. I might be OK to live with a dog, pending introductions.

“If you’d like a sweet gal, then come see me today!”

Minchi is up for adoption from the Upper Valley Humane Society, located at 300 Old Route 10 in Enfield and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The Upper Valley Humane Society is also on Facebook and Instagram and can be reached at 603-448-6888.

Maxine, adoptable from Sullivan County Humane Society

“I am 3-year-old Maxine. On a rainy, stormy night I was meowing to get inside a business. I was scared by all the wind and thunder and did not want to get all wet.

“Fortunately, the girl working there brought me in and called the humane society emergency line. The kind people at the humane society immediately headed out and picked me up and brought me into this warm, dry, safe place — they tell me it is called a shelter!

“I am hoping to find a warm, dry, safe place of my own where I can get lots of love!

“I am vet checked, spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped and FIV/FeLV negative!”

Maxine is up for adoption from Sullivan County Humane Society, located at 145 Broad St. in Claremont. Please see hours on the humane society website at www.sullivancountyhumanesociety.org and Facebook. Call 603-542-3277 or email sullivanhumane@hotmail.com.

Kuro, adoptable from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society

“Hi! My name’s Kuro and I’m a 1-year-old neutered male. I came to Lucy Mackenzie as a stray. I love it here. I always have food and water. I live in a communal room with other cats. There’s really nice people that come and pet me. Sometimes I like to be around other cats, sometimes I like to be on my own!

“I’m playful and energetic, and promise to bring lots of laughter to your life.  If you’ve been looking for a feline companion, stop in and meet me today!”

Chanel, adoptable from Sullivan County Humane Society

“I am 5-year-old Chanel. I was a stray that a nice woman was feeding. She hated to see me live my life as a stray cat but, sadly, could not bring me in because her dogs did not like me. So, she brought me here and now I have a chance at my very own family!

“I am vet checked, spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped and FIV/FeLV negative.”

Chanel is up for adoption from Sullivan County Humane Society, located at 145 Broad St. in Claremont. Please see hours on the humane society website at www.sullivancountyhumanesociety.org and Facebook. Call 603-542-3277 or email sullivanhumane@hotmail.com.
