LEBANON — As it searches for a replacement for departing Executive Director Heidi Reynolds, AVA Gallery and Art Center is turning to a familiar face to steer the ship in the interim.

Hartford resident Hilde Ojibway served as interim director at AVA in 2019, when she oversaw a round of budget cuts and fundraising to bring the nonprofit art center’s budget in line.

This time around, AVA is on sound financial footing as it searches for its next executive director. Ojibway will start work July 12. Bente Torjusen, AVA’s former longtime leader, will serve as a strategic adviser, as she did in 2019.
