PLAINFIELD — Residents settled contested elections for the Selectboard and library trustees in Australian ballot voting Tuesday.
Selectboard member Ron Eberhardt turned back a challenge from Marc Morgan, 345-215.
Rosemary Mills defeated Beverly Widger for a library trustee seat, 326-215. And Adrienne Cedeno won a library trustee seat over John Hendrick, 320-207.
Chris Forman and Kate Whybrow easily won seats on the School Board.
A proposal to raise $183,000 in taxes to help pay for a new $1 million library in Meriden is likely to dominate debate at the floor portion of Town Meeting on Saturday. The meeting starts at 10 a.m. in the Plainfield Elementary School gymnasium.
