Jacquelyn JiMoi lives in Tunbridge with her husband, George Lawrence. The following is an edited interview.
Careen responds to "he." Careen responds to "she" and "Hey, you" and "Bubba." It doesn't seem to matter. I think we humans are much more attached to gender as an identity. When Careen's energy comes through me I can feel it, and it doesn't feel like mine, so I call him a "he."
Careen says there are a lot of beings that work with the physical world that don't wear bodies, just as there are a lot of beings — us — who do choose to wear bodies. There's not one way to be here.
If a being like Careen chooses to work with me, it's for Careen's evolution as well as ours. He says he likes to practice his humor here because in the non-physical there's no time, and with jokes timing is everything.
Careen doesn't promote the idea that there is fate, that there is a written book we're living out. It's not about lottery numbers or fortune telling. It's about giving you another perspective to view reality through.
Careen can look in terms of what we're pondering to see what gives us the best opportunity to be fully ourselves. It's a level of wisdom that's not guided by our cultures and the programs that we grew up with.
I want people to know me as more than that woman up on the hill they don't quite understand. I'm a regular person in my community who has a specific skill around helping people look at their lives.
George and I volunteer at the Co-op Thursday mornings to make soup, I head up a seed-buying group and handle all the orders for that, I'm a passionate gardener and I work with Careen. When people ask me what I do, I say all those things, I don't say just any one of them.
The reason you haven't heard of me is that I'm a somewhat private person. I don't advertise. It's all word of mouth. I don't call anyone to make an appointment. They call me.
What I would ask is that you maintain your curiosity and be open. When people open up I can tell you there's no such thing as an ugly human being. People are really just beautiful energy.
Take what works for you and don't worry about the rest. I'm not trying to prove anything; trust your own intuition. The information is more important than what the source is.
