Chilean winemaker St. Emiliana produces the Walnut Crest pinot grigio in Italy in the Province of Pavia from government certified 100 percent pinot grigio grapes. The company is one of the largest in the world and one of the biggest wine exporters to the United States. The wine is widely available and has a screw top ease of opening and resealing.
The crisp, lemon flavor makes it great with fish or some other light summer meal. It’s refreshing and light enough to enjoy by itself or with appetizers.
I don’t often see Walnut Crest on sale, but it doesn’t need to be. It’s a great buy for $7.99 for the double bottle. The other Walnut Crest wines are good too, but I like the pinot grigio the best.

Citra is produced in Italy’s mountainous central wine region of Abruzzi, where 10,000 grape growers got together to form a cooperative, built a first-rate, modern winery and pledged to produce quality wines at reasonable prices. Citra’s Trebbiano d’Abruzzi is one of those wines.
Citra’s Trebbiano has a fresh, clean taste with a slight dry citrus flavor. There’s nothing that really jumps out about the wine, except for its exceptional balance and clean taste. It’s a wonderful wine to sip by itself, or have with appetizers, light main course dishes, such as seafood. It often is on sale for $3 off at the register at area stores. Even Chardonnay drinkers like this one.
