Efficiency was the name of the game for the Woodsville High boys basketball team in a 70-41 victory over visiting Blue Mountain on Monday night as the Engineers steamrolled to a big early lead and senior Jaret Bemis crossed the career 1,000-point barrier. Bemis, averaging 18.1 points per game this season, needed 14 points coming in to reach the plateau. Woodsville led 23-8 after the first quarter as Bemis racked up 13 quick points. The Engineers’ defense then forced a turnover early in the second that Bemis converted into an easy layup for points 1,000 and 1,001. …
