UVTA Hits Eastman Trails Sunday
Grantham — The Upper Valley Trails Alliance will continue the celebration of its 15th anniversary with an Eastman Trails Day event on Sunday at the Eastman Cross Country Ski Center.
The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. will include opportunities for both Nordic skiing snowshoeing on Eastman’s 30-kilometer trail network. The cost to participate is $10; Eastman residents get in for free.
Additionally, special guests will lead a series of group outings during the day at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., at an additional $5 per person. Historian Vic Henningsen will lead two snowshoe hikes, and former Olympic biathlete and current Ford Sayre coach Dennis Donahue will guide a pair of cross country ski trips. Equipment rentals and food are avaiable at the cross country ski center, and all proceeds from the day will go toward UVTA trail development, use and maintenance programs.

Windsor Softball Clinics
Windsor — Katelyn and Stefanie Curtis will lead a series of softball pitching clinics for girls beginning on Sunday and continuing for five weeks.
The clinics will take place on Sunday mornings through March 9 at the Windsor High School gymnasium (lower entrance). Grades 4-8 will start at 10 a.m., with grades 9-12 following at 11 a.m.
The cost to participate is $40 for Windsor residents and $50 for nonresidents. For more information, contact Windsor High softball coach Phil Hathorn at 802-291-2645.

Winter Golf Tourney Set
Canaan — As if to demonstrate that golf isn’t only for the warm weather, the Friends of Canaan Village will hold the David O. Cushman winter golf tournament on Saturday at Williams Field.
Come armed with a sense of humor and one club; organizers will provided tennis balls and a free putting range for the tournament. Free hot chocolate, donuts and pizza will also be available, while the cost to play in the tournament is $5. Prizes will be awarded, including the Babcock Trophy to the winning golfer. Tee time is at noon.
