Philadelphia — Tony Hicks scored 24 points, Darien Nelson-Henry had a strong game and Penn held off Harvard in a 75-72 upset win last night.

Nelson-Henry finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds and three steals for the Quakers (8-20, 5-6 Ivy League), who snapped a two-game losing streak. Henry Brooks and Miles Cartwright each scored 12 points.

Penn, which led by 16 points late in the first half, had its lead trimmed to 69-65 with 1:38 left to play when Harvard’s Laurent Rivard knocked down a 3-pointer. The Crimson cut the deficit to three points on Siyani Chambers’ 3-pointer with 13 seconds remaining, but two-seconds later, Miles Cartwright answered with two free throws to push the Quakers’ lead to five.

Christian Webster’s 3-pointer cut the score to 74-72, but that was the last shot Harvard (17-9, 9-3) would attempt.

Wesley Saunders scored 20 points and Webster had 16 points for the Crimson.

Boston — Richard Ross scored a season-high 17 points to lead five Old Dominion players in double figures as the last-place Monarchs bid farewell to the Colonial Athletic Association by knocking off regular-season champion Northeastern.

Old Dominion (5-25, 3-15), which joins Conference USA next season, led by 25 with 11:30 left. After the Huskies (19-11, 14-4) trimmed the deficit to 78-74 with 19 seconds remaining, Dmitri Batten saved the ball on an apparent Northeastern steal and hit two free throws.

Cincinnati — Terrell Vinson and Freddie Riley combined to hit 10 3-pointers in Massachusetts’ victory over Xavier.

Vinson scored 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including four from deep, while Riley tallied 18 points, all from 3-point range. Trey Davis came off the bench to score 12 for UMass (18-9, 8-6 Atlantic 10), which shot a season-high 52 percent (13 of 25) from beyond the arc.
