A year after going 11-6 overall and finishing second in the Ivy League at 6-1, the Dartmouth College field hockey team is struggling at 3-6 and 1-2 in the Ancient Eight. The Big Green is in a six-way tie for third place, behind Pennsylvania and Princeton.

One highlight, however, is junior forward Ali Savage, a Australian and first-team All-Ivy honoree last season who’s second in the league this fall with 10 goals, or 1.1 per game.

Savage put up the fifth hat trick of her career at Penn last weekend during a 5-4 loss to the Quakers. She’ll get a chance to pile up some more points Friday when Massachusetts-Lowell (1-11) visits Chase Field for a 3 p.m. contest.

The River Hawks have been outscored, 45-11, this season.
