Dragons Burn Big Green
Philadelphia — Maggie Scanlon found the back of the net for the fourth straight game, but that would be all the Dartmouth College field hockey team would net against 16th-ranked Drexel in a 6-1 loss on Friday.
Drexel (8-2) hit the board on an own goal after just 69 seconds, doubling its advantage through Christina Conrad 15 minutes later.
Ellen Meyer stopped eight shots for Dartmouth (3-5).
Brown 3, Dartmouth 2
Providence, r.i. — The Bears took an early 7-3 lead in the decisive fifth set, saw Dartmouth rally for a 9-9 tie, then used an Amanda Nickel kill to finally put the Big Green away in a 20-25, 25-23, 25-22, 22-25, 16-14 nailbiter at the Pizzitola Center.
Freshman Molly Kornfeind led a balanced Dartmouth attack with 12 kills. Emily Astarita, Paige Caridi and Elisa Scudder amassed 11 kills apiece.
Doubles Wins for Green
