Hanover Crew Bound For New Englands

Hanover — The Hanover High crew team will be sending five boats to this weekend’s New England championship as a result of performances in a Saturday dual meet with Tabor Academy on the Connecticut River.

The Marauders’ first, second and third varsity girls and first and second varsity boys qualified for New Englands. The second and third girls both had good races against their longstanding prep rivals on Saturday, with the seconds winning by nearly three seconds over 1,500 meters and the thirds outracing Tabor by nearly six seconds.

Tabor swept the three varsity boys races, but Hanover’s first novice crew rolled to a 12-second win over their Tabor peers in their race.

The New England Interscholastic Rowing Championships will be staged on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.
