NLG Wins at Qualifier
Barre, Vt. — Seven members of Wilder-based Northern Lights Gymnastics warmed up for the state championships by winning their classifications at the Sectional 3 state qualifier at March 10.
Four NLG competitors swept all four individual disciplines (vault, uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise) on their way to all-around victories. White River Junction’s Sydney Nalette (36.70 points) earned all-round honors among 8-year-olds in level 4; Etna’s Samantha Simmons (35.70) matched the feat in the same level for 6- and 7-year-olds; Wilder’s Abby Vanderpot (33.175) swept her way to victory among 7- and 8-year-olds in level 5; and Norwich’s Amelia Wallis (32.050) rolled in level 6 competition.
Three other Northern Lights gymnasts also secured all-around crowns: West Lebanon’s Isabella Roebuck (level 5, ages 13 and over; 32.125 points), Hanover’s Natalie Chapman (level 5, ages 9-10; 35.80 points) and Topsham’s Natalie Smith (level 5, age 12; 33.475 points). NLG competitors won more than 30 individual events at the qualifier.

Plaisted Fifth in Quebec
Saint-Just-de-Bretenieres, Quebec — Orford musher Fran Plaisted continued the International Sled Dog Racing Association season by claiming fifth place in a March 10 race in Canada.
Plaisted’s result came in the Daaquam River International Championship sled dog race. Competing in the adult four-dog speed division, Plaisted completed the 10-mile route in 35 minutes, 52 seconds.
The event was hosted by the Club D’attelage Des Chiens du Traineau du Quebec.

Concord — The New Hampshire Golf Association will welcome all golfers interested in expanding their knowledge of the game to a rules clinic on April 6 at Concord Country Club.
The clinic will run from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., with a $15 fee charged to defray the cost of lunch.
