Kaleb Tarczewski (Claremont/Stevens), a freshman center at Arizona, started each game as the Wildcats began the season 4-0. He averaged 20.8 minutes, 6.3 points and 5.3 rebounds… Scott Faucher (Lebanon/KUA) is a senior guard at Wheaton (Mass.) College who appeared in each of the team’s first three games, all victories… Jason Gray (East Thetford/Thetford Academy), a senior forward for Lyndon State (0-3) averaged 11.5 points and 8.0 rebounds. Gray also played goalkeeper for the school’s soccer team, which finished 4-14. Gray played in every game and started 16 of them, compiling a .764 save percentage and a 2.56 goals-against average… Logan White (Hartford), a junior guard at Castleton, averaged 18 points during the Spartans’ first three games, a victory and two losses… Norwich’s roster includes sophomore forward Evan Tullar (Chelsea) and senior forward Brandon Kuhre (Lebanon). Both started the first three games for the Cadets (1-2), with Tullar averaging 11.8 points per contest and Kuhre averaging 4.2 rebounds per game.
Rebekka Dimick (Windsor) is a senior guard for Vermont Tech (6-1), which won its first six games after going a combined 12-38 the past two seasons. Dimick started four times during the winning streak and was averaging 2.6 points and 3.0 rebounds per game… Amherst has made four consecutive trips to the national semifinals and senior guard Jasmine Hardy (Meriden/Lebanon) is hoping to help make it five. The Jeffs started 4-0 and Hardy averaged 9 points and 3.8 rebounds… Junior center and tri-captain Stephanie Parker (Wilder/Hartford) helped New England College begin 4-1. Parker started once and averaged 3 points and 3.5 rebounds while playing four times… Eliza Polli (Hanover) and Swarthmore started 3-0, with the senior guard starting all three games and averaging 8.3 points. . . ... Courtney Ness (Norwich/Hanover), a senior forward at Brandeis, was part of the Judges’ 2-3 start. She started all five games and averaged 3.2 points… Endicott got off to a 5-0 start, with junior guard Sarah Robinson (Norwich/Hanover) playing in each contest… Sophomore guard Kaitlin Callahan (Windsor) helped Southern Maine start 5-0, playing in each game… Amanda Martin (East Thetford/Thetford Academy) is a junior forward for Lyndon State, which split its first two games. Martin started both contests, playing more than 24 minutes in each and scoring nine points in a defeat of Wheelock… Abby Wright (Hartland/Windsor) is a freshman guard who played once during Norwich’s 3-1 start… Green Mountain College started 1-2 and its roster includes freshman guard Keelin Banks (Kearsarge), freshman forward Allison Wilcox (Windsor) and sophomore guard Amber Heath (Windsor). Wilcox started twice in the three games she played and averaged 10 points and 12.7 rebounds. Banks appeared in three games and Heath in two… New Hampshire Technical Institute won six of its first seven games, its roster including senior guard Sara Romano (Lebanon), a dental hygiene student who averaged 16 points and 3.6 assists while hitting 70 percent of her free throws in five contests. . . . ... Freshman forward Colleen Taylor (Lebanon) helped St. Joseph’s (Maine) College start 3-1, averaging 10 minutes and 2 points during the three games in which she appeared for the Monks.
Men’s Cross Country
Daniel Fifield (Bethel/South Royalton), a junior at Green Mountain College, competed for the Eagles this fall, finishing 30th out of 32 runners and helping his team finish second during a four-team invitational meet at Vermont Tech. . . ... Vermont Tech’s men’s team was third at the Yankee Small College Conference championships. Sophomore Ryan Follensbee (Sharon/South Royalton) was the squad’s top finisher, coming in 13th on the 8K course at 323:59. Follensbee also plays guard for the basketball team, which began 3-1… Trinity sophomore Nate Lowrey (South Strafford/Hanover) helped the Bantams finish 30th at the NCAA Division III New England regional championships, placing 181st out of 335 runners with a time of 28:21.42. Lowery was 166th in 27:54.02 last year… Junior Kenedi Hall (Hartland) and sophomore Ryan Gannon (Woodstock) were part of a Lyndon State team that won the nine-team North Atlantic Conference championship for the fourth time in five years. The Hornets finished 37th out of 43 teams at the ECAC championships with Gannon finishing 276th out of 287 runners on the 8K course in 36:09… Alex Strenta (Hanover), a junior at Dickinson (Pa.) College, helped the Red Devils finish second in the Centennial Conference championships for a third consecutive year. He was 16th among individual runners at 25:54.1, an improvement from his 28th-place showing last year when he timed 28:37.9 on the 8K course… Andrew Blanchard (Lebanon) was a sophomore at New England College, which was seventh out of 10 teams at the North Atlantic Conference championships. He finished 52nd out of 69 runners in 33:12… Colby junior Paco DeFrancis (Hanover) was part of the White Mules’ ninth-place finish at the 11-team NESCAC championships, the program’s best showing at that meet since 2003. He placed 89th overall and eighth among Mules competitors, with a time of 26:57:47… Freshman Adam Miller (Claremont/Stevens) finished third (26:40.9) among individual runners and Norwich won the Great Northeast Athletic Conference title.
Women’s Cross Country
Junior Heidi Caldwell (Hanover) helped Brown finish third at the Ivy League championships, finishing fourth individually with a time of 20:36.5. Teammate and sophomore Leah Eickhoff (Hanover) finished 38th in 21:50. Caldwell later finished 21st at the New England regional meet and the Bears were eighth as a team. Junior Connie Emerson (Hanover) was also on the roster. . . ... St. Michael’s women’s team finished 10th at the NCAA Division III East Regional meet, with sophomore Lindy Heffernan (Kearsarge) running 22:57 for 28th place individually. Her teammates included senior captain Andi Nelson (Lebanon) and sophomores Sarah Stowell (Kearsarge) and Colleen Gilliatt (Grantham/Lebanon)… Lucy Garfield (Hanover), a senior at New Hampshire, placed sixth during a dual meet defeat of Maine. The Wildcats finished second at the America East Conference championships… Freshman Krista Brown (Hanover) was a member of the team at Colorado College, which finished fifth at the Division III West Regional. She finished seventh out of 47 runners on a 6K course and in a time of 24:24 during the Tigers’ invitational meet in September… Lucy Skinner (Hanover), a freshman at Bowdoin, helped the Polar Bears finished seventh out of 19 teams at the NESCAC championships. Skinner was 63rd among 93 runners in a time of 23:31.16 on the 6k course… Allison Craigue (Claremont/Stevens) was a senior for New Hampshire Technical Institute, which won the Yankee Small College Conference title. She competed for the program at the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association’s national championships.
Freshman midfielder Megan Deschaine (Claremont/Stevens) played in 18 games and started one for St. Michael’s (5-13), scoring three goals and adding an assist… Jodi Dumayne (Claremont/Stevens), a freshman goaltender, started all 12 games in which she played, going 3-9 with a .746 save percentage and 4.01 goals-against average. Teammate and sophomore forward Katharine Kessler (Newport) was second on the squad in scoring with three goals and an assist. The Chargers finished 5-10 in their second varsity season and with a roster on which 23 of 24 players were either freshmen or sophomores…. Senior forward Courtney Pollard (Lebanon) led Virginia Wesleyan (3-12) with seven goals and 14 points… Shawna Pinsonault (Brownsville/Windsor) and Blake Wardwell, junior forwards at Castleton State (17-5), helped the Spartans win their first North Atlantic Conference title since 2008. Pinsonault had five goals and two assists in 20 games and Wardwell had 18 goals and two assists in 22 contests… Junior defender Hannah Gage (Lebanon) and Keene State (15-9) advanced to the ECAC tournament semifinal. Gage played in 21 games and had five goals and two assists… Connecticut College (7-8) featured three local products on its roster. Laura Sanderson (Hanover) was a junior forward with a goal and three assists in 15 games. Andrea Hoisington (Brownsville/Woodstock/KUA), a junior midfielder, contributed a goal in the same number of contests. Senior defender Emily Scribner (White River Junction/Hartford) played in 11 games… Kelsey Porter (Quechee/Hartford), a junior midfielder, appeared in all 17 games for Rensselaer (9-8) and scored during the Engineers’ Liberty League playoff loss to William Smith… UNH (12-8) reached the America East Conference title game. Junior forward Mackenzie Joyce (South Pomfret/KUA) played in six games and had one goal and one assist. Sophomore midfielder Kellie Joyce (South Pomfret/KUA) played in 20 contests and have five goals and seven assists… Sophomore midfielder Kaila Gervais (Quechee/Hartford), freshman midfielder Aria Robinson (Bridgewater/Woodstock) and senior midfielder Callie Bellimer (Bridgewater/Woodstock) were part of Vermont’s 2-16 season. Gervais appeared in eight games, Robinson started 13 of the 17 contests in which she appeared and Bellimer started all 18 games and scored once… Sophomore Nikki Garvey (Canaan/Mascoma) was Plymouth State’s third-leading scorer with six goals and seven assists. The 4-foot-11 midfielder played in every game as the Panthers (13-7) won the ECAC Division III New England tournament title, a year after losing in it… Junior goaltender Courtney Duquette (Enfield/Mascoma) was the only backstop to play for New England College (9-12) this season, posting a 2.99 goals-against average and an .807 save percentage. … Erika Johnson (S.Pomfret), a junior forward at Colby (6-8), playing in five games and recording a goal and an assist. ... Anne Fougere (Kearsarge), a freshman midfielder, played in six games during St. Joseph’s (Maine) College’s 9-8 season.
Alexander Morrill (Lebanon), redshirted as a defensive lineman at UNH, where the roster also includes redshirt freshman tight end Ekene Nwokoye (Hanover). … Senior tight end Nick Kenyon (Norwich/Hanover/KUA) led Tufts (0-8) in receiving with 27 catches for 289 yards and two touchdowns. The Jumbos are winless in their last 15 games… Grant White (Springfield/KUA) was a junior quarterback for Bowdoin (1-7). He played in one game, completing 5-of-11 passes for 25 yards and had two tosses intercepted… Sophomore running back Cody Patch (Lebanon) and freshman receiver Dan Gorman (Hanover) spent the season on Dartmouth’s junior varsity… Junior Kasim Edebali (KUA) started at defensive end and appeared in 10 games while recording 51 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks for Boston College (2-9)… Gus Cruz (KUA), is a redshirt sophomore for the University of Connecticut (5-6), which upset No. 19 Louisville in three overtimes last weekend for its first defeat of a ranked team since 2007. Cruz started at right guard in that game, his third consecutive start at that position… Dylan Moye (Canaan/Mascoma) was a junior offensive lineman for Nichols (Mass.) College, which finished 1-9 after a winless season in 2011… Max Finnegan (Lebanon) was a senior offensive lineman for Western New England (6-4)… Freshman tight end Parker Sutherland (Hanover) was on the Curry (Mass.) College roster. The Colonels were 6-4… Ithaca went 6-4, a two-victory improvement over last season. Sophomore cornerback Sam Carney (Hanover) returned 10 kickoffs and 19 punts, recording 484 combined return yards and earning All-Empire 8 Conference honors. He also made 15 tackles. Senior defensive end Skyler Schlenker (Hanover) started every game and had 51 tackles and five sacks… Senior tight end Stephen Buskey (Hanover) appeared in seven games and caught a pass for St. Lawrence (0-10)… Jeff Fairbrothers (Hanover), a senior at Union (6-4), played in nine games and made nine tackles… Senior defensive back Phil Amato (North Pomfret) helped Colby (3-5) by making 40 tackles and recovering two fumbles in seven games. Sophomore defensive lineman C.T. Harris (Canaan) played in the same number of contests and had 18 tackles, 1 1/2 sacks, six tackles for loss and a blocked kick… Castleton State improved from 4-6 last season to 7-4 this fall. Local players on its roster included junior linebacker Mick Wong (Hartford), freshman running back Matt Rafus (Hartland/Windsor), senior defensive back Brandon Bergeron (Hartford), freshman lineman Steven Ladka (White River Junction/Hartford), senior defensive end Cameron Laundry (Hartland/Hartford), sophomore linebacker Alex LaFlamme (Woodstock), senior defensive end Alex Beloin (Windsor) and senior defensive back Cody TanCreti (Hartland/Windsor). Wong was second on the team with 91 tackles, 10 1/2 of them for a loss. Rafus played in six games and carried twice for 26 yards. Bergeron returned 11 punts for an average of 6.7 yards and was third on the team with 88 tackles. Laundry was fourth on the team with 83 tackles and had 4 1/2 sacks. Beloin had 21 tackles and a sack. TanCreti had 40 tackles, six interceptions and a fumble recovery. ... St. Lawrence sophomore forward Patrick Doherty (Hanover) helped the Saints start 6-4-2, playing in each contest and posting a goal and an assist… Colgate’s women’s team was 3-10-2 out of the gate, with freshman forward Miriam Drubel (Hanover) as its third-leading scorer with three goals and three assists… Nick Lovejoy (Orford) played five times during Dartmouth’s 5-2-2 start, as many times as the junior defenseman had suited up in the first two years of his college career… Colby’s women (2-2) feature freshman forward Maddie Dewhirst (Hanover) and junior goaltender Brianne Wheeler (KUA). Both played in each of the first four contests, Dewhirst recording an assist and Wheeler posting an .893 save percentage and a 3.14 goals-against average… Freshman defender Hadley DesMeules (N. Pomfret) is at Williams (2-1), where she played in each of the Ephs’ first three games and posted an assist… Stevenson (Md.) University (3-3) is playing its first-ever women’s varsity season at the Division III level, competing with an all-freshman roster. Included among the Mustangs is defenseman Kristen Webber (West Lebanon/KUA), who played in all six contests and was rated a plus-3… Elmira (N.Y.) College’s women were briefly atop the D3hockey.com national poll at 7-0-1 before splitting their next two games and falling to No. 4. Freshman forward Taylor Steadman (Hartford) appeared in all 10 games and had a goal and three assists… Yale (2-10) features senior defenseman Emily DesMueles (N. Pomfret), who played in eight games… Kelsey Muller (Sunapee) is a senior forward at Wesleyan, which started 2-2… Army (3-6-1) has enjoyed the services of freshman forward Andrew O’Leary (Norwich), who played in seven games without recording a point and was rated a minus-7.
Brady Boisvert (Lebanon) played in 17 games and started four as a freshman forward for Nichols (13-8), which reached the Commonwealth Coast Conference title game for the third time in four years… Freshman goaltender Austin Mansell (Lebanon) appeared in one game for Elmira (13-7), which advanced to the ECAC Upstate New York Division III tournament. The Soaring Eagles tied the program record for victories in a season… Freshman fullback Cooper Hardy (Lebanon) appeared in three games and started one for Wheaton (Mass.), which finished (9-7-4)… Castleton’s roster included senior forward Jake Roswell (White River Junction/Hartford) and sophomore defender Drazen Smith (Bradford/Oxbow). The Spartans were 11-7. Roswell started 12-of-13 games and recorded a goal and two assists and Smith played in six contests… Junior defender Dan Remillard (Hanover) started all 14 games for Bates (4-8-2)… Eric Jayne (Hanover) was a sophomore midfielder at Dartmouth (9-7), starting seven of the 13 games in which he appeared and posting an assist… Haverford (12-8-1) won its first Centennial Conference title and appeared in the NCAA Division III tournament for the first time in 32 years. Senior defender Trevor Barlowe (Hanover) started in 14 of 16 games in which he played… Brett Bascom (New London/Kearsarge) was a sophomore goalkeeper for Springfield (Mass.) College. The Pride finished 8-10-2 and Bascom started all 13 games in which he played, going 4-6-1 with three shutouts… Vermont Tech finished 3-10-1 with sophomore Kyle Bigelow (Woodsville) and junior Hannes Fischer-Byrne (Strafford/Sharon Academy) on the roster. Hamilton appeared in three games and started one, allowing two goals, while Upham appeared in 20 games and produced three goals and an assist… Freshman defender Kim French (White River Junction/Hartford) appeared in 13 games for Castleton State (15-5-1), which won the North Atlantic Conference title for the third consecutive season and advanced to the NCAA Division III playoffs… Haley LeBlanc (W. Fairlee/Rivendell), a freshman midfielder, played for Vermont Tech (3-11) this fall, starting 13 games… Junior forward Hillary Bonasera (Chelsea) was part of Lyndon State’s 4-12-1 season. She started 16 of the 17 games in which she played, scoring a goal and adding two assists… Molly Puchtler (Sunapee) was a freshman forward for New England College (9-9-1). She started one of the nine games in which she competed and had two goals… Regan Dewhirst (Hanover), a senior defender at Vermont, played in three games as the Catamounts went 4-13-2. . . ... Johnson State (6-9-2) featured junior midfielder Ashley Wentzell (Bradford/Oxbow) and freshman forward Felicia Downing (Bradford/Oxbow). Wentzell started in all 17 games and scored once and Downing started in eight of the 15 contests in which she appeared and posted an assist… Husson senior defender Meghan O’Neil (Hartford) started 16 of 19 games as the Eagles went 7-13-1… Junior goalkeeper Allison Hull (South Royalton) was part of Norwich’s 5-9-3 campaign. After not playing college soccer her first two years at the school, she started 10 of the 11 games in which she appeared, posting a 1.70 GAA and an .804 save percentage… Green Mountain College had three local products on its roster while going 0-15 this fall. Senior midfielder Kimberly Blank (West Lebanon/Lebanon) started all 10 games she appeared in, scoring once. Freshman midfielder Martha Howe (Sunapee) started each of the 15 contests in which she competed, also scoring once… Junior midfielder Hazel Wood (Thetford Center) played for Hampshire College (8-3-1) this fall. She’s also a member of the school’s women’s basketball team… Rivier went 5-10-2 with sophomore midfielder Savannah Neuwirt (Kearsarge) starting three of the 12 games in which she played… Freshman forward Abigail Hybl (KUA) was part of Brandeis’ 16-5-2 campaign, during which the Judges advanced to the Division III quarterfinals. Patrick Murphy (Lyme/Thetford Academy) is a junior on the Texas swim team. The Longhorns split their home opener, beating Indiana but losing to Michigan, while Murphy competed in three events… Freshman golfer Kevin Dwyer (Hanover) was part of Johnson State’s sixth-place finish in the eight-team North Atlantic Conference championships. He led the individual field after the first day of competition and finished 13th… Vince Kimball (Lebanon), a junior golfer at Southern New Hampshire shot his team’s best score at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association’s championship. The Penmen finished fifth among Division II schools and 14th among the event’s 35 teams overall and Kimball was 26th out of 171 golfers… Keegan Dufty (Norwich/Hanover) is a junior on the Wesleyan crew team… The Norwich women’s rugby team went 13-0 and will compete in the spring’s USA Rugby Division I national championships, along with 15 other squads. Senior center Corinne McElroy (Canaan/Mascoma) is a member of the Cadets… Also at Norwich is freshman wrestler Cole Boone (Newport), who’s grappling at 197 pounds. ... Erin Donahue (Norwich/Hanover), is a freshman member of the varsity cycling team at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, N.C. She helped the Bobcats finish fourth out of five teams at the USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike national championships in October. ... Sean Drake (Lebanon), a senior golfer at St. Joseph’s (Maine) College, was part of the Monks’ sixth-place finish at the nine-team Great Northeast Athletic Conference tournament. He finished tied for 12th place out of 45 golfers in individual competition.
