Local Roundup: Hanover Golfers Sweep Opener
Hanover — The Hanover High golf team opened its season with a sweep of Windham, Hollis-Brookline and Trinity at Hanover Golf Club’s par-34 front nine.
The Marauders’ Pat Dyroff shot a 35 to earn the medal. He was followed by teammates Phin Choukas (36), Josh Goodrich (37), Andrew Keddy (40) and David Lehmann (40).
Hanover (3-0) greets Lebanon and Pembroke on Tuesday.
Big Green Gets National Exposure
Hanover — The Dartmouth College men’s hockey team’s game at New Hampshire on Jan. 9 will be broadcast live on the NBC Sports Network.
Opening puck drop from the Whittemore Center in Durham is tentatively set for 7 p.m.
The match-up of the Granite State’s two Division I men’s college hockey programs will be the first in Durham since 2000, when the Wildcats defeated the Big Green, 3-2, in overtime. Since then, the teams have played 12 games in Manchester and two in Hanover.
Dartmouth last played on NBC Sports on Feb. 1, 2013 at Union in a game that ended in a 2-2 tie. The game at UNH will mark the fifth appearance on the network for the Green since the 2011-12 season, posting a 2-1-1 record.
