Freshman Morgan Galluzzo (New London/Kearsarge) was named the Freedom Conference’s goaltender of the week in mid-March after backstopping three victories for Wilkes (Pa.) University and helping the Lady Colonels improve to 5-0. Galluzzo (5-0) started four games, with a 7.54 goals-against average and a .413 save percentage. ... Defenseman Tessa Montano (Ascutney/Windsor) and midfielder Martha Howe (Sunapee) are sophomores for Green Mountain, which started its season Saturday. ... Senior midfielder Blake Wardwell (Bridgewater/Woodstock) and sophomore attacker Brianna McKay (Randolph) were part of Castleton State’s 0-3 start. Both played in each game and started twice, Wardwell scoring once and McKay three times. ... Men’s Basketball

Kaleb Tarczewski (Claremont/Stevens), a sophomore center at Arizona, helped the Wildcats go 30-4 and win the Pac-12 Conference regular season title. The Wildcats fell to UCLA in the conference tournament final, but earned a No. 1 regional seed in the NCAA tournament and beat Weber State in the first round. Entering that contest, Tarczewski had started 31 of the 32 games in which he played, averaging 10.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. ... Castleton State finished 19-8, but was upset in the North Atlantic Conference tournament semifinals. Senior guard Logan White (Hartford) played every game and started 24 of them, averaging 16.4 points and 3.2 rebounds per contest. Senior guard Brandon Bergeron (Hartford) appeared in 19 games, started two of them and averaged 2.6 points per game. ... Ryan Follensbee (Sharon/South Royalton) was part of Vermont Tech’s 11-17 season. The junior co-captain started 25 of the 26 games in which he appeared, averaging 6.3 points and 2.9 assists and earning Division II Academic All-American honors for the second consecutive year. ... Freshman guard Trenton Morrison (Tunbridge/Sharon) averaged 1.3 points in 14 games for Green Mountain College (4-18). ... Norwich was 6-20 with junior forward Evan Tullar (Chelsea) averaging 13.8 points and 4.5 rebounds and starting 24 of 26 games. ... Senior guard Grant White (Kimball Union) helped Bowdoin go 19-6 and advance to the first round of the NCAA Division III tournament. White started every game and averaged 7.1 points and 4.7 rebounds. ... Senior guard Grant White (KUA) was part of Bowdoin’s 19-6 season, starting every game and averaging 7.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists. The Polar Bears bowed out in the opening round of the NCAA Division III playoffs. ... Rick Naylor (KUA) was a sophomore guard at Trinity (Conn.) Women’s Basketball

Norwich (15-13) advanced to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference title game, knocking off seven-time defending champion Emmanuel in the quarterfinals. Freshman guard Lacey Stever (Fairlee/Rivendell) played in 22 games and averaged 1.3 points per contest. Sophomore guard Clara Leister (Hartford) appeared in 14 games and senior forward Erin Clark (Oxbow) started every game and averaged 5.0 points. She also suits up for the Cadets’ softball team, which began 4-4. Clark played in each of those contests and batted .238. ... Senior guard Stephanie Parker (Wilder/Hartford) was part of New England College’s 14-12 season, playing in 25 games, starting three of them and averaging 2.8 points per game. ... Senior guard Sarah Robinson (Norwich/Hanover) helped Endicott go 23-7 and win the ECAC Division III championship. She averaged 2.2 points per game and started 22 of the 29 games in which appeared. ... Senior forward Amanda Martin (East Thetford/Thetford Academy) competed for Lyndon State (3-20) and averaged 1.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest. She started 17 of the 23 games in which she played. ... Green Mountain College was 1-21, including a 100-34 loss in the season finale against Castleton. Sophomore guard Keelin Banks (Kearsarge) played two games and started one, while junior guard Amber Heath (Windsor) started all 18 of the games in which she played and averaged 9.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per contest. ... New Hampshire Technical Institute was 13-16 with senior guard Sara Romano (Lebanon) on its roster. ... Clarkson and freshman guard Stephanie Grobe (White River Junction/Hartford) were 9-15. Grobe started every game and averaged 7.0 points and 4.5 rebounds. ... Eliza Henley (Kearsarge), a freshman guard at Simmons, started four of the 20 games in which she played, averaging 1.0 points and 1.2 rebounds per contest. ... Men’s Ice Hockey

Senior defenseman Zac Fulton (East Thetford) helped Norwich go 20-7-3 and reach the NCAA quarterfinals, the first time in five years the Cadets fell short of the semifinals. Fulton played in 14 games this winter with two assists. He had three goals and 12 assists in 69 college games. ... St. Michael’s was 7-17-3 with sophomore forward Brody McCusker playing 13 games and notching two assists. ... Sophomore forward Andrew O’Leary (Norwich) played for Army (6-27). He dressed for 30 games, producing four goals and nine assists. ... Patrick Doherty (Hanover) had nine goals and eight assists as St. Lawrence finished 15-19-4. ... Nick Lovejoy (Orford) played 25 games as a senior defenseman and forward for Dartmouth, ending his college career with two points in 41 games. The Big Green was 10-20-4. ... Senior guard Anna Prohl (New London/Kearsarge) started 14 of 27 games in which she appeared for Bowdoin (21-6), averaging 4.3 points and 3.3 rebounds. The Polar Bears were ousted by Castleton in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs.

Women’s Ice Hockey

Taylor Steadman (Hartford) was a sophomore forward for Castleton (16-10-2), producing six goals and three assists in 16 games. The Spartans lost to Norwich in the ECAC East title game, falling just short of the school’s first NCAA hockey tournament berth. Steadman sat out part of the season and transferred from Elmira, for which she scored the national championship-winning goal in 2013. ... Colgate (10-22-2) featured junior forward Miriam Drubel (Hanover) as its leading scorer with 10 goals and 13 assists in 34 games. ... Colby lost in the NESCAC semifinals, finishing 10-14-2. Sophomore forward Maddie Dewhirst (Hanover) had three goals and two assists in 24 games and senior goaltender Brianne Wheeler (KUA) was 10-13-2 with a .933 save percentage and a 2.22 goals-against average. ... Stevenson (Md.) University (8-16-1) played its second varsity season at the Division III level with a roster of sophomores and two freshmen. Sophomore defenseman Kristen Webber (West Lebanon/KUA), played in eight games before suffering an injury. ... Sophomore defender Hadley DesMeules (North Pomfret) helped Williams improve to 15-10-3, win its first NESCAC title and reach the NCAA Division III postseason, playing in every game and posting two goals and three assists. ... Kyra Herbert (Plainfield/Lebanon) played in all 26 games for Manhattanville (N.Y.) College (8-14-4) and had a goal and two assists. She transferred after playing club hockey at UVM a as a freshman.

Swimming

Anna Fougere (Kearsarge) is a sophomore at St. Joseph’s (Maine) College who competed in the regional championships for the Monks and tallied 13 points while swimming in two breaststroke events. ... St. Lawrence enjoyed the services of sophomore Grant Reeder (Kearsarge), who was part of the Saints’ second consecutive 12th-place finish at the 14-team Upper New York State College Swimming Association meet. The squad’s highest finish came when Reeder and three others combined for a 14th-place finish out of 24 teams in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:25.34. ... Sophomore Ellie Thompson (Enfield/Lebanon) had Emory (Ga.) University in the hunt for its fifth consecutive NCAA Division III national title. She was part of the Eagles’ All-American 400-yard medley relay team, which finished fourth at the national championships. ... Clark sophomore Tyler Terriault (Claremont/Stevens) was part of Clark University’s seventh-place finish out of seven teams at the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference championships. He finished 45th out of 48 competitors during the 500-yard freestyle in 5:54.27. ... Colby-Sawyer junior Krystyna Estrada (Lebanon) set school-record times in three events at the NEISDA championships. She set marks in the 50 freestyle,100 freestyle, and 100 IM. Estrada earned a second-place finish in the A final of the 100-yard IM in a record time of 1:00.70 and placed fourth in the 100-yard freestyle in a record time of 53.66. She also placed third in the 50 yard freestyle A finals and set a new school record in a time of 24.21. Estrada was also part of a 400-yard relay team that set a school record at the same event. The Chargers were 7-1, losing only to Division II St. Michael’s. Their roster also included junior Jen Gavell (Lebanon) and senior Ari Marks (Grantham/Lebanon), who each qualified for the NEISDA championships in four events.

Skiing

The Castleton’s men’s team posted the best finish in program history when it was third in the combined standings at the USCSA national championships, led by Matt Coture (Lyme/Hanover). The freshman earned All-American honors for his combined performance in the giant slalom and slalom. He finished 12th overall among individual competitors and was also recognized as an Academic All American by virtue of having a grade-point average over 3.30. ... The St. Michael’s teams had three area participants. Freshman Hallie Bergwall (Lebanon) competed for the Nordic squad and sophomore Willow Smith (Bradford, Vt./Oxbow) was part of the alpine team. Sophomore Brad Farrell (West Windsor/Sharon Academy) qualified for the NCAA alpine championships, which included Division I, II and III competitors. Farrell was in the bottom half of the pack in his two events, but posted the third-best giant slalom finish ever for a Purple Knights racer at the event and tied for the second-best such showing in the slalom. ... Sophomore Nordic competitor Erin Perryman (Lebanon) finished 14th in the 5K free event (15:18.7) and 15th in the classic sprints event (3:58.8), both at the UVM Carnival, to post her two best collegiate finishes. The Saints finished seventh out of 16 teams. ... Senior alpine racer Geoff Bonewald (New London) participated this season for New Hampshire, which finished 11th out of 23 teams in the NCAA championships. His highlight was a 10th place finish in the giant slalom at the UVM Carnival. ... Division III Colby (Maine) College finished sixth at the NCAA alpine national championships, landing behind five scholarship schools. Junior Jeanne Barthold (Lyme/Hanover) took 23rd in the slalom at 1:44.96. The Mules alpine men took fourth at the Eastern championships, including an 11th place finish by senior Matt McKenna (Hartford), who completed the giant slalom in 1:56.77.

Other Sports

Sophomore wrestler Cole Boone (Newport) competed at 197 pounds for Norwich. ... Colby-Sawyer equestrian rider Jenna Boillotat (Etna/Hanover) was part of the Chargers’ regular-season finale at UNH in early March. The freshman won in novice fences and was third in novice flat. Boillotat accumulated enough points to qualify for the regional championships and move up a division. Classmate Kelsey Barker (Claremont/Stevens) earned a second-place finish in walk trot. ... Junior Sarah Libuda (White River Junction/Hartford) is on the gymnastics roster at Springfield (Mass.), which finished fourth out of six teams at the ECAC championships for a second consecutive year. She competed on the balance beam and in the floor exercises. ... Sophomore Taylor Morris (Woodsville) helped Norwich softball start 4-4 and was batting .333 with three RBIs. ... Kristy McDonnell (Quechee/Hartford) is a junior softball player at Johnson State (0-8) and appeared twice as a pitcher, starting once. ... Keene State softball started 3-3 with senior infielder Elissa Coburn (Claremont/Stevens) appearing in three contests. ... Tyler King (Lebanon) is a senior track competitor at Keene State, which finished third out of six teams at the Little East Conference championships. ... Brown’s women’s track team finished sixth out of eight teams at the Ivy League indoor championships. Senior Heidi Caldwell (Hanover) finished fourth in the 5,000 meters at 16:29.59. Sophomore teammate Leah Eickhoff (Hanover) finished 20th out of 26 racers in the 3,000 meter run in 9:52.12. Also on the team was freshman hurdler Safiya Walker (Hanover). ... Alex Strenta (Hanover), a senior runner for Dickinson (Pa.) College, finished 12th out of 20 competitors in the 5,000 meters as the Red Devils finished third for a second consecutive year in the nine-team Centennial Conference indoor championships. ... Senior Josh Cyphers (Grantham/Lebanon) and junior Joe Carey (Hanover) were on Dartmouth’s indoor track team, which finished sixth out of eight schools at the Ivy League championships. Cyphers failed to score in the pole vault at that meet, but won it at the Dartmouth Invitational and finished 10th out of 15 vaulters at the IC4A meet in Boston soon after. He began the outdoor season 21st out of 24 competitors Saturday at a meet in Myrtle Beach, S.C. ... Sophomore Lucy Skinner (Hanover) helped Bowdoin place fifth at the New England Division III championships. She placed fourth in the 3,000 meters at 10:18.97. ... Elyse Rubchinuk (Newport) is a sophomore on the track roster at Bowdoin, which finished 19th out of 36 teams at the New England championships. Her best effort in the shot put was 30-4.75. ... Dartmouth junior Cathy Liebowitz (Plainfield/Lebanon) took sixth in the weight throw at the Ivy League championships with a toss of 54-8.75. ... Isaiah Fariel (Hanover) is a sophomore who regularly competes in several sprint and relay events for Massachusetts. The Minutemen finished 10th out of 37 teams at the New England championships. ... Annie Pullen (Plainfield/Lebanon) is a junior hurdler and jumper for Boston University, which won the 10-team, Patriot League indoor championship. ...
