Letter: A Serious Blow to Local Theater
To the Editor:
Bravo to the Valley News for recognizing that Brooke Ciardelli and Northern Stage parting company is a serious blow to theater lovers in the Upper Valley (“Exiting the Stage,” Dec. 9). Many of us got our early exposure watching Broadway productions, and to find that kind of passion and creative force in White River Junction seemed almost too good to be true. I suspect I’m not alone in deciding to wait a season or two to see if the new regime deserves the kind of support I gave freely to Northern Stage under Ciardelli. As an occasional writer about theater, I have only one comment about your editorial: I wish I’d written it.
