Updated: Stella’s Restaurant in Hartland To Be Replaced by Diner

Stella’s Restaurant in Hartland will open its doors for the last time on March 10, as the owners announced via Facebook today that they have sold the space to another Hartland resident who plans to open a diner there April 1.

Read Jon and Stracy Capurso’s full announcement at this link.

The Capursos said they are “in the process of installing a new restaurant in the historic Windsor Train Station,” assuring fans that that “we don’t plan on being out of your lives forever.”

Opened six years ago, Stella’s was known for using local ingredients to devise its breakfasts and lunches, aiming to “strengthen the local food economy,” as described on its Facebook page.

A cast of regulars included our very own former photography intern Ryan Dorgan, who would reportedly order a turkey club for lunch every Thursday. Reached by text message, Dorgan — who now works for a newspaper in Indiana — was devastated.

“I KNOW I HATE LIFE,” he said. “I need to figure out a way to be there on March 10.”

Update, Thursday, Feb. 7: Interested in learning more about that diner that will soon move in to replace Stella's? See the Woodstock Early Bird's post last week containing some good information about the diner's plans. (As blogger Julia Carlisle reported, much of it comes down to "OMG, breakfast all day long.")
