Letter: Excellent Column From Lange

To the Editor:

Cheers, kudos and all positive adjectives for Willem Lange’s column of Feb. 13 (“The Teachers of Hate and Fear Have Been Much Too Effective”).

The small but succinct You’ve Got to Be Taught song from South Pacific hits home more today than in 1949. Several weeks ago, I began to sing it, but I’d forgotten most of the lyrics. Now I have all of the lyrics.

Those in Washington — in fact, everyone in this country — should take to heart its meaning, as it defines the true hate which is in our faces every day.

Thank you, Willem Lange, for the wake-up call.
