Letter: The Message Remains the Same
To the Editor:
Your op-ed about the myths of Jesus’ life and the actual physical details of his life (“Five Common Myths About the Life of Jesus,” Oct. 5) doesn’t change his message.
That message is: God loves us all. He loves us so much that he sent Jesus to save us — from ourselves. Jesus was not sent to judge us. God wants us to love him. One part of loving him is to love your neighbor as yourself, which includes forgiving your neighbor. Try that. You might like it. Warning: It’s hard to love and forgive those who hurt you — to turn the other cheek. It works because it removes the hate inside you.
About the details picked apart by the writer: Ask yourself what the chances are that he, or anyone, has perfect, or even pretty good, knowledge of what happened 2,000 years ago?
