Letter: Come to Hanover Energy Expo

To the Editor:

Spring is here, and the sun is shining. Let’s harness that energy to re-power our communities. It works!

Since we installed solar hot water at our home three years ago, we have used on average 500 fewer gallons of propane each year, saving about $1,500 annually. Since we installed a 4.8 kilowatt-power photovoltaic system two years ago, we have consumed 80 percent fewer kilowatts each year, and to date have saved 13 tons of carbon dioxide (equal to planting 45 trees). On the coldest days, the sun shines.

To learn more about your options and to assess what might be the right system for you, come to the free Sustainable Hanover Energy Expo this Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Richard Black Community Center, 48 Lebanon St. Hope to see you there.
