Letter: A Case of Climatological Alarmism
To the Editor:
It should have come as no surprise, given the panic incited by the previous two snow non-events this winter, yet I was still flabbergasted at 6:14 p.m. on Monday evening when the Dresden School District joined just three other schools in the region to cancel school for Tuesday, due to yet another breathless winter storm warning.
I won’t invite comparisons with a curmudgeon by citing how much snow we walked to school in, both ways, when we were kids. But can we maintain a shred of New England fortitude, or at least skepticism, by waiting until the first flake flies before making the call?
